A New Year

I don’t necessarily subscribe to formal New Year’s resolutions, but I do think the idea of a fresh start with clear objectives is both cleansing and encouraging. As I reflect on the upcoming year, I am finding the most productive way to organise my goals is by grouping them into categories, which I believe could relate to anyone conducting a similar exercise. Take a look below to see how these themes might help you!

2025 Growth Buckets

Èze, France
  • Habits:
    • These include your daily and weekly behaviours, which I consider to be non-negotiable. These should be the activities that you find most important to maintaining overall health, happiness, and productivity.
    • For example, my workouts will always fall within this category, and 2025’s schedule looks very similar to last year’s because it’s been working for me. Each week looks like this: 2x Heavy Lifting, 2x Pilates/Sculpt, 2x HIIT Cardio, 2x Runs, 1x Cycling, 1x Walk & Stretching/Yoga, 1x Rest.
    • Additionally, think about something you’d like to have accomplished by the end of the year, and the daily habits in which you need to partake to make that happen. I will complete War & Peace by the end of 2025, which is facilitated by Simon Haisell from Footnotes & Tangents on Substack.
  • People:
    • I am excited to approach 2025 with a “less is more” mindset when it comes to socialising. No more obligatory hangouts. No more maintaining one-sided relationships. If people don’t have the time for me, I am not going to stress about making plans happen. Conversely, I will no longer waste time on individuals who do not fully uplift and inspire me. This year I will have the confidence and self-respect to take a step back where needed.
    • Therefore, my two goals here revolve around making more scheduled time for a few people while limiting my weekly social commitments to 2x activities. This will be challenging because I chronically over plan, but this is exactly why I know it’s important for my stress management.
  • Work:
    • This section is pretty obvious, but I encourage you to think about it in a few different ways. What are some of the major deliverables you want to accomplish at work this year? These could entail presentations, events, new business, altered strategies, etc. And how will they contribute to your overarching career goals and growth plan?
    • Then, reflect on learnings from 2024 to determine how you’d like to show up each day. I wrote down a mantra for myself to repeat during the moments I feel exhausted, stressed, or unmotivated. Because let’s be honest, it happens. We are human, after all, so we need to be able to tap into the motivation and renewed energy we’re feeling now when these inevitable instances of weakness creep up throughout the year.
  • Long-Term:
    • Finally, I am grouping my less structured and more time-consuming initiatives here. They should be your bigger picture, lofty, shoot for the stars, think big ideas. Look ahead to your future and picture where you want to be. What do you need to accomplish this year to contribute to these dreams?
    • For example, mine involve learning another language, adding a new PDF to my blog (details to remain a secret for now), and conducting industry research (again, I am being vague on purpose). My point is not for you to understand exactly what I have planned, but instead to demonstrate what sorts of things you could be considering.

I hope these themes help you structure a strategy for yourself this year. Take advantage of your current insight, rest, reflection, and motivation to think about how you want to live your life better, show up stronger, and feel happier to find your ultimate success. We have so much potential, so let’s do everything we can to reach it and crush it in 2025!

You got this, I got this, we got this!

Good luck,

Bea ❤

  1. […] up my time. And that is certainly not a healthy (or kind) way to live. So, as I mentioned in my “A New Year” post, I set a social limit to 2x events per week, including all things work, family, and […]
